100 preferences limit

currently i have 100 preferences, which is less than what I had on ref PDS. but due to MAX_PREFERENCES_COUNT i am limited to only that many. i am unaware if there is even a limit on the ref PDS. either way it would be nice if this was tossed out or increased to like 1000 or a much larger number. maybe this could also be a config option too instead of needing a recompile?
